Categories
Categories are used to group URLS into manageable chunks, so that you can filter groups of websites, simply by allowing or blocking one or more categories.
Categories can be found in the SchoolProtect console, under the Category Definitions.
The DSL in your school should regularly review the categories to ensure these are appropriate for your different users/policy groups. Under each category heading, there is a short description to help DSLs decide whether the category is appropriate to allow or block for particular users. Best practice would be to have multiple user groups set up and differentiate the categories that are blocked/allowed for different groups (perhaps depending on the age of the user or any particular risk factors).
How do I check which category a URL belongs in?
In order to see what category a URL comes under, you can do this by going to the SchoolProtect admin console, and going to Policies - URL Recategorisation. From here, you can enter a URL and see which category it comes under. You are also in the same place used to request a recategorisation.
