Sophos blocking Sims updates/installations

If Sims is failing to install this can be because Sophos is preventing the installation. You can resolve this by adding scanning exclusions into the Threat Protection Policy.

From Sophos Central navigate to the Threat Protection Policy here - https://cloud.sophos.com/manage/endpoint/policies-list

Add the following as File of folder (Windows) exclusions :

C:\Program Files\Solus3\

C:\Program Files\sims\Sims.net\

C:\ProgramData\Capita\

C:\ProgramData\Solus 3\

C:\Windows\sims.ini

C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net\connect.ini

The Folder exclusions require the backslash at the end so that Sophos knows it is a Directory being excluded

Add the following as Exploit Mitigation and Activity Monitoring exclusions:

C:\Program Files\Solus3\AgentService\Sims.Solus3.Agent.Ul.exe

C:\Program Files\Solus3\AgentService\Sims.Solus3.Agent.PackageDeployer.exe

C:\Program Files\Solus3\AgentService\Sims.Solus3.Agent.OfflineDeployer.exe

C:\Program Files\Solus3\AgentService\Sims.Solus3.Agent.AgentService.exe

Once this has been done, and the policy has had a chance to deploy you should find that Sims will update/install as expected.
